This course is a study of the preparatory, pharmacology, airway management, patient assessment, trauma and shock modules as it relates to the provision of pre-hospital emergency medical care to critically ill and injured patients. Students apply these concepts through practical skills and clinical decision-making to prepare for entry-level EMT practice. Emphasis is placed on safe, effective assessment and management of patients in the prehospital setting.
